New cable car in the Paris (France) region. Video from start to finish, and back again.

This is the new cable car in the Paris (France) region , 7 miles southeast of Notre Dame as the crow flies.
Since it opened on December 13, 2025, this C1 cable car has directly connected the towns of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Limeil-Brévannes, and Valenton with metro line 8 Créteil – Pointe du Lac.
The cable car's starting station is called “Station Pointe du Lac Créteil - Téléphérique C1.”
It is the longest urban cable car in Europe.

The best way to get there is to take metro line 8 and get off at the terminus “Pointe du Lac.”
Parking in the area by car is a matter of luck. However, there are bicycle parking facilities.

The route is 4.5 kilometers long, has 5 stations, 105 gondolas, a right-angle turn (!), and a travel time of 18 minutes (40 minutes by bus). The track reaches a height of 45 meters.

There are ten seats in each gondola. There is room for a wheelchair. There is no heating, but there is a camera. A gondola arrives every 30 seconds.
All stations are staffed. Open weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and weekends until 12:30 a.m.
You need a tram-bus ticket, which costs only €2 for a single trip.

The creator of this fine piece of technology is the Austrian company Doppelmayr.
At the stations, the gondola brakes sharply and then emerges with a beautiful swing just behind the gondola in front. Spectacular, and the first time you hope it goes well. And it does.

It's especially interesting for train enthusiasts, as you float over a large SNCF marshalling yard, with TGVs whizzing beneath you.
The cable car is also located in the extension of Paris-Orly airport. When the wind is blowing in the right direction, the planes are “just” above you. And Orly is beautifully lit in the evening.
