The Collects:
Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Collect for St. Andrew
Almighty God, by whose grace and power your holy martyr Andrew triumphed over suffering and was faithful even to death: Grant us, who now remember him in thanksgiving, to be so faithful in our witness to you in this world, that we may receive with him the crown of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Gospel: Matthew 24:36-44
36“But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, 39and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them all away, so too will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40Then two will be in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. 41Two women will be grinding meal together; one will be taken and one will be left. 42Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43But understand this: if the owner of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.44Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour.


La Colecta:
Ayúdanos, Dios, en tu poder, a despojarnos de las obras de las tinieblas y ponernos la armadura de la luz en esta vida mortal en que Jesús, con gran humildad, nos visitó; para que, cuando vuelva en su gloriosa majestad a juzgar a vivos y muertos, nos levantemos a la vida eterna; por tu Hijo Jesucristo, que contigo y el Espíritu Santo vive y reina, un solo Dios, ahora y siempre. Amén.

Dios todopoderoso, que diste a tu apóstol Andrés una gracia tal que prestamente obedeció el llamado de tu Hijo Jesucristo y trajo a su hermano con él: Concédenos, a los llamados por tu Santo Verbo, la gracia para seguirle sin demora y traer a su bondadosa presencia a los que amamos; por aquél que vive y reina contigo y el Espíritu Santo, un solo Dios, ahora y por siempre.
