Prophets of Rage - Prophets of Rage BASS COVER (with Tabs and Sheet)

Today we’re going to study this fabulous bass line by the legendary Tim Commerford, bassist of Rage Against the Machine and Prophets of Rage. The line in “Prophets of Rage” stands out for its power, groove, and attitude, blending funk, rock, and hip-hop influences into a tight, driving rhythm. Commerford’s tone in the original is thick and heavily distorted, giving the song its raw, revolutionary energy and locking perfectly with the drums to create an unstoppable pulse.

For my version, I decided to play the bass with slightly less distortion than the original. This allows the details of the groove and the movement of the line to be heard more clearly, showing how precise and dynamic the bass work really is. Even with a cleaner tone, the line keeps its strength and remains the main force pushing the song forward.
