Darjeeling is one of the prettiest and the most popular hill stations in the eastern part of India located in the state of West Bengal. The average altitude of the town is around 6700 feet above sea level. This cute little hill town offers some magnificent views of the snow-capped Kanchenjunga, numerous tea gardens, vast jungle of firs and pine and the perfect mountain weather coupled with the amazing colonial charm.

This 4K quality video contains places visited on the third day at Darjeeling during the 12-day solo bike trip to North Bengal. It includes visit to a small village called Bijanbari located in the banks of river Chhota Rangeet in the foothills of the Darjeeling hills. In this video, I have captured moments of my first time crossing a river with my Royal Enfield Classic 350. The road to Bijanbari was extremely rough with steep climb and I had to face a lot of challenge during the ride. However, the journey was exciting and memorable.

Bijanbari is located at an altitude of 2500 ft. at the foothills of the Darjeeling. The valley is crisscrossed by a river, surrounded by waterfalls, tea gardens and virgin forests. There are a lot of options of homestay in this small village and it can be a perfect destination for a lovely weekend if you want to spend some peaceful time away from the tourist crowd. For a short break, I went to one of the lovely homestay there, Bansbari, a homestay built with bamboos.

I did a walking tour around the village of Bijanbari and also spent a good amount of time by the side of the river Chhota Rangeet. I met two lovely kids and one of them took bath in the river as well. I was also willing to take a river bath but I had to ditch the plan as the water was too cold for me. I had a small interaction with a local person who was planning to open a small homestay in his place to invite tourists. I taught him how to make a Youtube Vlog using his phone and through his vlog he could reach out to people asking them to come to Bijanbari and offer stay in his homestay. The journey back to Darjeeling was long but the road was good and it took me more than two hours to reach Darjeeling.
