This chapter gets abused often by so many, for a multitude of reasons, because of the content. As we saw in the first verse, people tell us the Bible says not to judge. In the verses we examine today, some try to make the case that if we ask we will get things, because Jesus said so. Does that belief strand up to Biblical scrutiny when we look at all passages on the subject? The obvious answer is no, but many may have difficulty making the case against such claims. So we look at other passages to get a Biblical understanding of what Jesus teaches here.
After the study in Matthew 7 we look at the question of Spiritual Warfare, which we hear spoken of often in church culture. The description should make the definition obvious, but like all topics, there are those who misrepresent the Biblical teaching and ignore some simple truths about the type of "warfare" we encounter as believers. Is this warfare something to be feared and avoided, or just part of the territory for the believer?
