CAD Modelling Challenge #04

In this CAD Modelling Challenge, we’ll create the component directly from the engineering drawing using SolidWorks.
This challenge is part of the Test Your CAD Skills series, designed to improve your modelling workflow, strengthen feature-based design skills, and help you read mechanical drawings with confidence.

💡 Commands Used:
• Revolve
• Extruded Cut
• Circular Pattern
• Fillet
• Hole Wizard (Ø12 mm)
• Chamfer

🎯 Objective:
Convert the 2D engineering drawing into a complete and accurate 3D model by revolving the profile, cutting the radial openings, patterning features, and adding holes and finishing details.

📘 What You’ll Learn:
• How to interpret sectional drawings (Section A–A)
• How to build complex parts using Revolve
• How to create radial slots using Extruded Cut
• How to pattern features using Circular Pattern
• How to add bolt-circle holes using Hole Wizard
• How to finish models with Fillet and Chamfer
