Improving dirt cheap linear rail guides & blocks

I used a lot of these cheap linear rail guides & blocks lately, and unfortunately the saying, that you get what you pay for is true once again.
But with a bit of time and effort, these can often be made to work properly again, although sometimes you get one that can't be saved.
