Today we're conducting a science experiment, where we compare the Ikijime versus then Shinkei-Jime methods in preserving your catch!
We explain the two methods, our experiences and thoughts on the two processes.
Make sure you watch this video to find the outcome of two fish that are caught on the same day using the two different methods of dispatching your fish. These being;
Ikijime is the process of brain spiking.
Shinkei-Jime is the process of nerve severing.
Often Shikei-Jime is associated with Japanese fishing industries, but it can be applied to any fish across the world to ensure its the best quality fish you've ever eaten, when you get home.
We at WA Fishing believe Shinkei-Jime is the best way to take care of your catch, and we will most certainly be doing more of it in our future videos.
This video confirms this as being the case.
