Cox was named one of TIME magazine’s eleven “Heroes of Medicine” for his discovery of a new HIV/AIDS drug candidate. Cox discusses the importance of chemical ecology research in promoting the development of major medical treatments and addressing the most pressing technological and social needs of humanity.
