How to calculate HHI and the different degrees of concentration and the market structures that they represent. The closer the HHI is to 10,000 then the higher the concentration is and the less competition exist (monopoly), on the other hand the lower/closer the concentration is to 0 then perfect competition exits in the market.(perfect competition) HHI indicates the market shares held by each firm within that industry
