In this video, we explore the beautiful Dadamandi Valley in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, where we meet people who have shifted from nearby mountain villages and built their homes in the valley. Despite the shift, they still face challenges similar to those in upper villages — especially wild animals destroying their crops.

To cope, they’ve turned to kitchen gardening, growing items like coriander, fenugreek, ginger, garlic, leafy vegetables, and potatoes. Along the way, we meet local villagers who generously share their old sayings (lokoktiyan) and traditional songs, giving us a glimpse into the region’s living heritage.

इस वीडियो में हम आपको ले चलते हैं उत्तराखंड के पौड़ी गढ़वाल स्थित डाडामंडी घाटी में, जहाँ आसपास के गांवों से लोग अब आकर अपने नए घर बना चुके हैं। हालांकि यह घाटी थोड़ी नीचे है, लेकिन जंगली जानवरों से खेती को होने वाला नुकसान यहाँ भी वैसा ही है जैसा ऊपर के गांवों में होता है।

लोगों ने इसका हल निकाला है किचन गार्डनिंग के ज़रिए — जहाँ वे धनिया, मेथी, पालक, अदरक, लहसुन और आलू जैसी चीज़ें उगाते हैं।
हमने कई स्थानीय लोगों से मुलाकात की, जिन्होंने हमारे साथ पुरानी लोकोक्तियाँ और पारंपरिक गीत भी साझा किए।
