How to create pathways for your raised bed vegetable garden. Learn how to choose the best material and make pathways that are beautiful and easy to maintain.

To determine how much pathway material you'll need, first calculate the square footage of your paths (length x width). Then render the desired depth of your material in terms of feet: 4 in.=1⁄3 ft., 6 in.=1⁄2 ft., and so on. Multiply the latter number by the square footage, and that’s the volume of material you will need in cubic feet. To convert that to cubic yards, divide by 27 (1 cu. yd.=27 cu. ft.).
