Opera singer Yuri Ivaskevich was a soloist at the Zaporizhzhya Philharmonic and volunteered early in the war for the Ukrainian infantry. He lost a leg defending his country.
Yurii IVASKEVYCH is a veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a soloist of the Zaporizhzhia Philharmonic, titled Honoured Artist of Ukraine. He joined the 110th Brigade of the Zaporizhzhia Territorial Defense Forces in the early days of the full- scale invasion. During the counteroffensive operation in 2023, he was wounded and partially lost his leg. After surgeries and rehabilitation, he returned to active military duty for a year and retired in 2025.
