Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger answer a question at the 1997 Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting. The question was on Buffett's concept of Owner Earnings. He also touches on insurance float as a source of value not showing up in the direct calculation of earnings. Buffett doesn't define owner earnings here, but he has in the past, saying that it's reported earnings plus depreciation and amortization less an amount for capital expenditures needed to maintain unit volume.
