좋은 비누를 만들기 위해서 어떤 요소가 가장 중요할까요. 알칼리의 종류, 물의 종류 모두 중요하겠지만 그중에 가장 중요한 요소는 오일의 종류가 아닐까 싶습니다. 자연이 구성해놓은 지방산 조직은 오일의 종류마다 모두 다 달라서 어떤 오일을 어떻게 사용하느냐에 따라 질감이 다른 비누를 만들 수 있기 때문입니다. 그러나 저는 과학적 사고와 분석만으로는 비누 만들기에 적합한 오일을 판별하기 어렵다고 생각하는 사람이라서 결국은 경험과 지혜를 따라서 오일을 선택하고 사용하곤 합니다. (과학을 평가 절하하는 것이 아니라 인간이 밝혀내지 못하는 지점들이 분명히 있다고 생각하기 때문에 제 짧은 과학적 지식을 사용하기 보다는 조상들의 긴 역사와 지혜를 따라서 비누를 만드는 것이 좋은 비누를 만드는 지름길이라고 생각합니다.) 그래서 저는 가장 역사가 긴 알레포 비누를 중심으로 마르세유비누,그리스비누, 모로칸비누, 아프리카의 블랙솝 그리고 중국의 비누들까지 전통적으로 만들어져왔던 모든 비누에 관심이 많습니다. 10년이 지난 지금까지도 비누 장인들의 손길을 따라가며 그들이 어떤 생각으로 비누를 만들어왔는지 나름의 연구를 하고 있습니다. 그 결과로 오늘은 알레포 비누 만드는 영상을 업로드하게 되었습니다. 오늘 영상에서 사용한 월계수 오일이나 올리브 오일은 현지에서 사용되는 것들로 구입을 했습니다. 자연물의 특성을 굉장히 강하게 지니고 있는 오일들이었습니다. 색상과 향 맛까지 매우 강렬했습니다. 워낙 고가의 오일들이라서 비누를 만드는 동안도 긴장하고 만들기도 했지만, 완성된 비누가 너무나도 아름다워서 정말로 행복했습니다. 이 진한 오일들로 어떤 비누가 만들어졌는지는 영상을 통해 확인해주세요!
What factors are the most important to make a good soap? The type of alkali and the type of water are both important, but I think the most important factor among them is the type of oil. This is because each type of oil is different in the fatty acid structure formed by nature, so soaps with different textures can be made depending on which oil is used and how. However, I am a person who thinks that it is difficult to determine which oil is suitable for soap making only by scientific thinking and analysis, so I choose and use oil according to my experience and wisdom. (I am not devaluing science, but because I believe that there are clear points that humans have not been able to uncover, rather than using my short scientific knowledge, I think that making soap according to the long history and wisdom of our ancestors is a shortcut to making good soap.) So, I am interested in all the soaps that have been traditionally made, from Aleppo soap, which has the longest history, to Marseille soap, Greek soap, Moroccan soap, African black soap, and Chinese soap. Even after 10 years have passed, I am still following the hands of the soap craftsmen and doing my own research on how they made soap. As a result, today I uploaded a video of making Aleppo soap. Laurel oil and olive oil used in today's video were purchased with locally used ones. They were oils with very strong characteristics of natural products. The color and aroma and taste were very intense. Because they are so expensive, I was nervous and nervous while making the soap, but I was really happy because the finished soap was so beautiful.
