Surprise catch while fishing a small English river 🎣

The UK has faced some terrible autumn weather this week, with some suffering more devastating floods, but this video was filmed at the end of a red hot summer day in the UK, so it's a trip down memory lane to summer. Indeed, it was still over 30C as I arrived at a new and beautiful stretch of the RIVER WEY in Surrey.
Known as Somerset Bridge, it's run by Farnham Angling Society and provides a small but idyllic slice of river fishing. With fast, shallow and clear water running over gravel, weed beds and assorted snags, it really does scream fish, even if this session was more about enjoying my surroundings than lots of bites and fish.
After a good look around I settled on a likely looking swim at the top end of a narrow yet deeper run, giving meat and worms a go before enjoying a bit of roving river fishing. When I return to base camp, I caught something quite unexpected but very welcome.
It's another chilled release from TMOF so sit back, relax and enjoy a bit of summer sun.
