This webinar briefly reviewed why having ADHD can predispose youth to trauma and PTSD. The main focus was on treatment methods, taking careful consideration of the ADHD diagnosis, since it often gets neglected in trauma-related therapy. Various treatment modalities were discussed including cognitive-behavioral therapy, executive functioning coaching, dialectical behavior therapy, narrative-oriented approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy, and pharmacological treatments. Clinical cases were presented, highlighting the clinical challenges and obstacles that can interfere with treatment.
