The End of the World and Hell Taught Plainly
Jesus often taught in parables. And you may think that he taught in parables to help his audience understand. But really, Jesus taught in parables, so that those that didn't really want to hear or see could just go their own way and continue to be deaf and blind. But for those of us that want to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, we can stick around at the feet of Jesus and continue to grow with him. Now, a lot of the parables Jesus taught, it made even his own disciples frustrated. And they would ask, what does this mean? And then Jesus would explain what that parable meant. One parable that Jesus explained very specifically is this parable about the end of the world in hell called the parable of the tares of the field. And I want to read it to you because a lot of Christians don't believe in a literal hell, or the end of the world, or they think that if there is a literal hell that they won't go there. Because they don't believe in the consequence of their sin. And I'm going to read it for you. This is found in Matthew chapter 13. I'm going to start in verse 37. 37He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. So after reading this, we want to make sure that we do not offend the king of the kingdom of God. We want to make sure that we're not committing iniquity or being bad people. Because we know that all of this bad seed is cast out. The good seed are the seeds of the children in the kingdom, But the tares, the bad seed are the children of the wicked one. So how do we make sure that we're not offending or committing iniquity? This is what we need to figure out because we know by what Jesus explained about this parable that all of those that are committing these offenses are thrown into this furnace. And there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. If we want to be saved, we have to repent of serving s e l f. We have to repent of serving ourselves as God. We have to ask Jesus to cleanse us from all our unrighteousness. We have to turn a 180 from doing evil. And we have to ask God to purge us, to purify us, and to make us his children. Without righteousness, none of us are going to see God. So I encourage you as your brother in the Lord to truly repent. Escape hell because hell is real. And this is one point in the Bible where Jesus is very clear that hell is real, that the end of the world will come. But the question is, who will we have served? Who will it be evident that we served, Jesus Christ or ourself? May the grace of Jesus be with you.
