EBC Brake Upgrade | Ebc brake install

Today, we are installing a great brake upgrade compared to our OEM setup. EBC has sent over a set of Slotted Rotors and Red Stuff Brake Pads. The difference is undeniable. After only 300 miles of driving these brakes are much better than the OEM ones.

If you haven't heard about EBC brakes yet, well, watch my video. EBC is a British brake specialist. I have used their brakes a long time ago when I still lived in Europe and only recently ran into them again when I started researching a brake upgrade for my Chrysler 200. I was excited that I could have their product right here in the good 'ol USA.

I was ready for something more than what my local auto parts store had on hand. Don't take me wrong. My local auto parts store can order EBC brakes. But most people just walk into the local auto parts store and buy based on 1, 2 or 3 year warranty. It has been a long time for me since I installed a great set of brakes on my car. Now that I have found EBC again, it would be hard for me to look anywhere else. But don't take my word for it. Try it. Install just some pads and feel the difference. I gotta admit, these slotted rotors look stunning.

Keep in mind however that when you run slotted or slotted and drilled rotors, your surface area is smaller compared to solid rotors. So a pad upgrade is a must. If you don't think my somewhat conservative red stuff pads are strong enough, and boy oh boy do they have some stopping power, you can always upgrade to yellow stuff, blue stuff or the ultimate track day pads, the orange stuff.

In order of stopping power as of this video:

Optimax 2
Green Stuff
Red Stuff
Yellow Stuff
Blue Stuff
Orange Stuff
RP-1
RP-X

The reason I piked red stuff was that they are ceramic and contain no metal, which means very low brake dust and still good performance. If I was going to run this car on a road coarse, I would purchase a set of blue stuff pads to swap in as needed. They will get you to the track and back but they are probably not a great daily driver especially in cold areas. The reason I didn't pick yellow stuff, they generate too much brake dust for my purpose.

If you just want factory replacement get the Optimax2 version and if you want more aggressive pads get the yellow stuff pads. That being said, expect the red stuff to be about 30-50% more powerful than OEM. I can't imagine how much more power the yellow stuff has. Use their selector and get the right stuff for your vehicle.
