It's a long story how I came to go dog sledding through Lappland. But it was one of the best things I have ever done. This little movie is for my mushing buddies.
In January 2013 I found myself on a plane to Kittilä, Finnland. I went mushing (dog sledding) through the winter wilderness of Lappland for 5 days. The highlights where working with the Huskies, gliding through a winter wonderland and staying in remote cabins in the forest, with no electricity or running water. The hardest part was hanging on to an overturned sled, being dragged face first through a snow drift by a team of eager dogs!
It was seriously cold some of the time. The first day was -25°C, thats -13°F. We where a group of 7 people from all over Europe, plus our German guide. We had all our food with us on the dog sleds, plus luggage for 4 days, we did not see any towns, houses or people our whole trip. Once we met another sled dog group, other than that it was just us and the dogs.
