Florence and The Machine plays a cover of Mystery Jets' Flakes live in Kensington Gardens, 21 June 2008.
The event also included Late of the Pier, also performing in Kensington Gardens and British Sea Power performing in the Natural History Museum.
This performance was one of a series of live events taking place in and around the museums of South Kensington as part of the Exhibition Road Music Day 2008.
Florence's studio version of Flakes can be found on the B-side of the 7" of Mystery Jet's Half In Love With Elizabeth, released in August 2008 (in the UK) and is also available on iTunes.
Florence and the Machine's new single, 'Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)' was released on 22 June 2009, and will be followed by the debut album, Lungs, on 6 July (US physical release 13 October).
Update 26 June 2015: Florence headlines Glastonbury this evening! I would never have guessed, as I sat under a tree in Kensington Gardens with about 150 other people in June 2008, that seven years later (almost to the day) the excitable young woman on the stage would be headlining the greatest music festival in the world! I saw Florence four times in 2008-9. Lungs had been released by the last time I saw her and it was fairly obvious that she was destined for great things but Florence and the Machine headlining the Pyramid Stage... wow! Didn't see that coming in 2008. Well done and good luck Flo, you deserve it!
