🔥 It's time to put my thrift store survival kit to the ultimate test — in the wild. After building a 5 C's survival kit using only secondhand gear, I'm heading out into nature to see if it actually works in a real survival scenario.
Based on Dave Canterbury’s 5 C’s of Survivability, this field test is about more than gear — it’s about skills, mindset, and making the most of what you’ve got. No expensive tools, no modern luxuries — just me, the woods, and a survival kit built on a tight budget.
In this video, I field test a thrift store survival kit containing the 5 C's of survival:
🪓 Cutting Tools – Can thrifted blades handle real bushcraft work?
🔥 Combustion – Will cheap fire-starting tools work under pressure?
🥣 Container – Can I cook and purify water safely?
🏕️ Cover – Did my shelter gear hold up to the elements?
🪢 Cordage – How well does thrifted rope and wire perform?
💬 Think this kit could keep you alive? Let me know in the comments!
📌 Subscribe for more bushcraft, survival, and gear challenges – and hit that bell so you don’t miss future field tests.
⛺ Stay wild. Stay prepared.
