Cultural Nite 23: ORIGINS
"Cultural Nite" is an annual theatre production combining the art of drama, dance, and musical performance.
2017's production, "Origins", is a spin-off on The Avengers. The Philippines is in a state of crisis and a mysterious figure has crippled the country by converting most of the rice plantations throughout the country into potato plantations. The country is slowly devolving into a panic as rice is part of every Filipino's meal, and nobody wants to eat their "adobo", "sinigang", or "bistek" without their beloved "kanin" (rice).
Enter Lanny Jacquiao, the 4th best Manny Pacquiao impersonator in Manila. When she is hungry, she turns into a rage-like beast. As the crisis spread across the Philippines, Lanny learns of other super-powered heroes in the country and journeys to each region of dancing to recruit them to form a team destined to save the country.
