Ring of Elysium launched in 2018 and at the time was considered by many to be the superior version of PUBG from Tencent. At the time it was much more creative, and it flat out just performed much better on more machines. With a unique playable map, a unique method of winning each match, and some pretty sweet snowboarding, it did pretty well at launch.
Over time, though, various changes to both the map and the gameplay, and what seemed to be a lack of focus, the player count has declined majorly. From nearly 70,000 all the way down to just a few hundred per day and no console release in sight.
Besides being on Steam, the game is on GeForce Now, and I really don't think too many people are playing on there. So let's take a look at the game and chat a little about my experience with it and what I took away from it.
