Vibrator Inverter experiment, A military relay originally designed for radio tubes during World War II. This device works as an electro-mechanical vibrator, using a vibrating mechanism to create rapid pulses that can be used to generate alternating current (AC) from a direct current (DC) source.
The basic mechanism involves switch contacts mounted at the ends of flexible metal strips. When the electromagnet is powered, it causes the metal strips to vibrate, opening and closing the contacts rapidly. These intermittent openings and closings interrupt the current flow, generating a pulsating current.
This pulsating current is then fed to the primary winding of a transformer, inducing an alternating current (AC) in the secondary winding. It’s a clever use of mechanical vibrations to generate AC, demonstrating a unique and innovative approach to creating electricity.
