As both driver and team manager for Melling Racing, veteran racer Lake Speed woos Cartoon Network to the once-great #9 team for 1998, just in time for NASCAR to celebrate its golden anniversary. At Daytona, the rejuvenated team shows impressive pace, and looks ahead to a successful season. But bad luck and injuries await, and once again, the opportunity will fall to an inexperienced but enthusiastic young rookie.
