Sakayume (Animenz arr.) - Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie ED [Piano]

Here’s my take of Sakayume arr. by Animenz. I have worked on this for around two and a half months now and it has been incredibly challenging compared to my previous pieces. For me, it was even harder than Michishirube due to the speed and complex rhythm at times. I realize that the sound quality isn’t amazing and there are certain parts that I rushed but overall I am satisfied with this video.

Some of my favorite sections of the piece:
-The flowing arpeggios at 1:05, although I wish it was played a bit better here.
-The sextuplets at 2:21 after the first chorus, a beautiful section that needs careful control of the accented notes.
-The soft pedal being used at 2:31, a really delicate and pretty section.
-The “ascension” buildup at 4:52 and the emotional finale. After the piece almost comes to a silence, a diminished chord is played and with each following chord progression the piece “ascends” until it reaches the climax. This was the most difficult and beautiful section of this piece for me due to the several rhythmically complex sections and three-hand techniques that require good voicing.

This piece was a big milestone as it marks almost exactly 2 years since I started self-learning the piano. I don't think the me 2 years ago could have imagined myself playing a piece like this one now.
