Madge Evers with Kate Ward on Making Zen October 2025

🧵 We’re so happy to welcome Madge Evers (@_sporeplay) to the Making Zen Online Retreat! Madge is an artist and educator whose work explores the natural cycles of dormancy, decay, and ecstatic growth through the lens of plant life.

Combining cyanotype printing, mushroom spores, bookmaking, and painting, Madge creates stunning botanical imagery that captures both real landscapes and imagined flora. She has exhibited across New England, attended artist residencies in the U.S. and Ireland, and teaches cyanotype workshops to people of all ages from her home in western Massachusetts. Her project-based book on cyanotype printing will be published by Storey in 2026.

🪡 Her workshop, “Cyanotype Printing on Fabric”, introduces you to the magical, camera-less process developed in 1842. You’ll use pressed plants to create striking blue and white botanical prints on fabric - a beautiful blend of simplicity, nature, and creative expression.
