We dig into the depths of our budget 2007 Land Rover Discovery 3 project — yes, that one. Remember the mystery engine block we found dumped in the trunk when we bought the car? Well, surprise! It had a crankshaft snapped clean in half, some serious rust, spun bearings, and even some mouse poop. But hey — why not rebuild it?

Vera and I take on the lower end of this engine with full confidence and a lot of improvisation. From backyard line boring to a bit of DIY bearing gallery honing, we show just how far you can go in your home garage when you don’t want to give up on a dead Land Rover engine.

This is not a job for the faint-hearted. If you skip the right steps in a build like this, you're just signing up for failure. We don’t want that. So in this episode, it’s all about precision, persistence, and progress — even if it smells like rust and regret.

We’re now a few steps closer to creating a true Frankenstein Engine. Will it ever run again? Nobody knows. But one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
