SWISS STEAK LIKE GRANDMA MADE IT & Putting Potatoes in the Freezer

It's my favorite day to be in the kitchen....Sunday. Let me show you how to make the tenderest venison steak and how to make your own french fries for the freezer.

Grandma's Swiss Steak
2 pounds venison steak
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. ground mustard
1/4 c. -1/2 c. flour
Lay steak on a good pounding surface. Sprinkle with seasonings and flour. Pound with meat mallet or wide mouth mason jar until meat is about 1/4 inch thick, turning over and dredging in flour as needed. Quick fry in hot cast iron with melted bacon grease. Place in crockpot with two bay leaves and enough water/beef broth to almost cover meat and. Some water can be added to iron skillet to loosen meat bits. Pour over meat in crockpot. Cook on low for about 4 hours or until meat is super tender. Thicken juices with 1 Tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 c. water and pour in crockpot. Stir around and allow to thicken for last 1/2 hour of cook time. Serve with mashed potatoes.

Homemade French fries - blanch for 4 minutes, drain WELL before freezing
Homemade Hash brown cubes - blanch for 2 minutes, drain WELL before freezing
