Americans are reading less literature than ever, and it’s little wonder why—smartphones, streaming services, video games, and countless other media distract us from the imaginative experiences of great books. But what is lost when we stop reading literature, and novels in particular? What good can come from reading great fiction outside of the classroom? In his talk, Christopher J. Scalia of the American Enterprise Institute will make the case for fiction’s relevance to our digital and democratic age.
Dr. Scalia is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and the author of 13 Novels Conservatives Will Love (but Probably Haven't Read).
