From the moment I first listened to Bowie's charming 1967 novelty song, "The Laughing Gnome" (and its major riff)—all I've been able to hear = *Funkytown*! And I finally got around to actually testing how well the two songs match—and, with some tempo tweaking, I got it to work... confirming my suspicion that Funkytown is, indeed, The Laughing Gnome's brother from another mother.
Ha, and in case this has crossed anyone else's mind and would be of interest, I figured I'd upload my mini-mashup. Enjoy... :-D
