The FCPS Get2Green program began in 2009 to support student-led and school-based environmental stewardship in our schools. Much of this work is carried out through Get2Green’s Ignite partnership with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). NWF’s Eco-Schools USA program provides a framework for student-led action on environmental topics or pathways. Riverside ES is one of 31 FCPS schools that has earned a permanent Green Flag, Silver Award or Green Flags.
