Mullae-dong a textile mill in the Japanese occupation to ‘Mullae’ reportedly originated in the ‘spinning wheel’, a tool to weave the nomination. In the 1960s, ironworks were formed in this area, and gradually became an iron factory complex. Many of the ironworks in Cheonggyecheon during the 1980s and 1990s were brought to a flourishing stage, once called the largest steel works complex in Seoul.
However, in the early 2000s, it was declared a redevelopment zone, and many factories were evacuated. They are artists who filled the vacancy where the ironworks left off. With artists nesting at low rent prices, it has a new turning point. The policy of the local art hub of Seoul is transforming into an art village.

'물래'의 일본 점령에 있는 방직 공장 문래동은 지명을 짜는 도구인 'spinning 바퀴'에서 유래한 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 1960년대에는 이 지역에 제철소가 형성되었고 점차 제철소 단지가 되었습니다. 1980년대와 1990년대 청계천의 제철소 중 상당수는 한때 서울 최대 제철소 단지로 불렸던 번성기를 맞이했습니다.
하지만 2000년대 초 재개발 구역으로 지정되면서 많은 공장이 철수했습니다. 제철소가 멈춘 빈자리를 메운 예술가들입니다. 저렴한 임대료에 둥지를 튼 예술가들로 인해 새로운 전환점을 맞이했습니다. 서울의 지역 예술 허브 정책이 예술 마을로 변모하고 있습니다.
