MHAFB bioenvironmental and environmental experts held an environmental information forum here July 12 to provide information and answer questions from base housing residents about the upcoming sampling event that will take place in the housing area for approximately two weeks in August. Certain products, namely pesticides (chlordane) and asbestos, were once legal and commonly used nationwide, including here on MHAFB. The Air Force is partnering with the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality to sample for these products to ensure there is no significant risk and to ensure the health and well-being of our residents, as that is our top priority.
