WAKEY WAKEY! It's Easter! And there's not a Doctor Who episode in sight. Bah. You know what? Let's make a holiday special, RTD-style!
Big! Massively big! So big YouTube can't handle it! ... or at least my account can't.
Possibly so big I can't handle it either, which means...
There'll probably be some pretty good stuff and most likely some toe-curl-inducingly bad stuff.
Tritovores and Lee Evans not included.

In other words: An almost 20 minute suite for two pianos based on Murray Gold's brilliant music for River Song, as orchestrated by Ben Foster and performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales - spanning three seasons of Doctor Who.

BEWARE: The titles above are made pretty spoiler free, but the actual titles of the suite's individual themes - as written below, in the score, and in the video, are major spoilers, if you haven't seen series 6 yet. You have been warned. And in case you don't read this description, too bad for you.

PART 2

When a River Forms - 00:00
River examines her new body in "Let's Kill Hitler".

The Enigma of River Song (excerpt) - 01:25
River makes a sacrifice for the Doctor towards the end of "Let's Kill Hitler".

Featured in, well, "The Wedding of River Song".

Melody Pond - 07:44
Music from the final reveal of River's identity in "When a Good Man Goes To War", this is obviously both thematically and harmonically closely related to "The Doctor's Final Journey", but with a different orchestration.


Now, as the introduction hints, I'm (as always) not quite satisfied with it. "Wedding" could use more pedal, Tell Me Who You Are a bit more pathos, and the dynamics aren't quite where I want them. But what can you do? (Well, make a version 2 at some point).
