Detail about Youth mobility visa:

As of February 18, 2025, the first ballot for the UK’s India Young Professionals Scheme (YPS) visa is currently open. The ballot commenced at 2:30 pm India Standard Time (IST) on February 18, 2025, and will close at 2:30 pm IST on February 20, 2025. Indian nationals aged between 18 and 30 who meet the eligibility criteria can enter the ballot during this period. 

Eligibility Criteria:
To participate in the YPS, applicants must:
• Be an Indian citizen.
• Be between 18 and 30 years old.
• Hold a qualification at bachelor’s degree level or above (equivalent to UK RQF level 6, 7, or 8).
• Have at least £2,530 in savings to support themselves in the UK.
• Not have any children under 18 who live with them or whom they are financially responsible for. 

Entering the Ballot:
To enter the ballot, eligible individuals need to provide:
• Full name.
• Date of birth.
• Passport details, including a scan or photo of the passport.
• Phone number.
• Email address.

The entry is free, and each person can submit only one entry per ballot. Multiple entries will be disqualified. 

Post-Ballot Process:
Successful entrants will be notified via email within two weeks of the ballot closing. They will then have 90 days from the date of the email to:
• Apply online for the visa.
• Pay the application fee of £298 and the healthcare surcharge of £1,552.
• Provide biometric information.

Visa processing typically takes up to three weeks from the date of application. Once approved, visa holders can live, work, and study in the UK for up to two years. 

For those not selected in this ballot, a second and final ballot for 2025 is expected to open in July. Unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to enter future ballots, provided they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
