Blood Ties es una serie que mezcla el drama, las historias de detectives y los vampiros.Todo gira en torno a Vicki Nelson (Christina Cox), una ex agente de la Policía de Toronto que se ve obligada a convertirse en detective privado debido a una enfermedad degenerativa en los ojos, que la está dejando ciega. Afortunadamente para ella, es buena en su trabajo y sabe usar sus encantos femeninos para solucionar casos.
Todo comienza cuando un día Vicki es testigo de un grotesco asesinato, aunque debido a su mala visión no está segura de lo que ha presenciado.
Henry Fitzroy decide también investigar lo ocurrido. Como al parecer, se culpa a uno de los suyos del crimen, este vampiro de 480, hijo ilegítimo del Rey Enrique VIII de Inglaterra, tiene un interés más que personal. A partir de su encuentro con Vicki, ambos unirán sus fuerzas para detener al vampiro rebelde que se dedica a matar indiscriminadamente. Entre ellos surge algo más que un compañerismo.
