5 Challenges to make Jamie Gillis Intersting - [Horseman Challenges + Tiger Striped Mustang] - RDR2

After a short chase, Arthur will be tasked to bring Jamie to his sister, Arthur’s ex-girlfriend, in Valentine.

During this short ride, Arthur is free to roam any part of the game map except Blackwater and New Austin.

In the video I keep saying that trains are disabled. After some fact checking, I was unable to find anything that explicitly says that trains are disabled. However, in my experience, I have never encountered a single train during my many attempts in completing these shinanigans while in Jamie’s mission.

Although I haven’t done all possible challenges at this point, during Jamie’s mission, you should be able to complete other challenges during this mission as long as they are not affected by the reduced spawning of certain game elements.

Blackwater will react to Arthur in a hostile manner if he gets too close into town. I did not show all possible points of interests and collectibles but uou are free to discover them yourself.

New Austin will have an invisible sniper that can one-shot Arthur no matter how high your HP is. The sniper is near ominipresent and very OP. However, he does have his limitations.

There is a part of southern New Austin that the sniper stops shooting. That is another way to get the Tiger Striped Mustang but it gets complicated with Jamie since that method relies on Arthur being on foot with a carcass. Jamie tends to randomly get between the camera and Arthur. The rule of thumb is that if the camera can see Arthur, the sniper can shoot him down. With that said…. even if you have Arthur covered, Jamie can still die if he is hit by a bullet on it’s way to hit Arthur.

Exploring New Austin as Arthur will recquire a buggy or a wagon to protect his head behind the vehicle structures.

The prefered buggy is the one from Saint Denis. There’s a buggy variant in Blackwater but that doesn’t work.

If you want to use the wagon, get the one with the three sections covered in canvas or the one from Rhodes with three sections but has only the top covered by the canvas. There are variants of the wagon that has four sections and another with two sections. The four section wagon does not work. The two section wagon does but offers minimal protection.

The Saint Denis buggy has three weaknesses. The two sides can expose Arthur, and Jamie if the sniper shoots for Arthur and he’s in between them, Then the little window at the back of the roof can be used by the sniper to shoot through to Arthur. There are two lanters on the sides of the buggy. If the sniper hits that, the buggy will burst into flames and then you die. Before reaching New Austin, it’s a good idea to bump it into some trees to break it. DO NOT shoot it with a gun… it can explode and ruin your buggy.

New Austin is HUGE… and there are a lot of things to discover and collect but I chose to just show the one getting the mustang as that alone has proven to enough of a challenge for me. That and most other collectibles involve Arthur getting off the buggy. I think those would be easy enough if Jamie was not present as most of the stuff I’ve seen involve just dying after acquiring the item. That is not a viable option in this challenge since Jamie has to make it back alive in Valentine. If he dies at any point of the run… you start from scratch.

Personal tips:

1. Prepare yourself to fail over and over again until you get it right. There’s no one-set instruction for this, you just have to be patient, determined, careful, and a little insane to finally get. And even then, It will not be pretty.

2. Get comfortable with your chosen vehicle. Know it’s limitations, and advantages.

3. Know the sniper. Get a feel of his rate of fire. That interval between shots are the only things that help your efforts against him.

4. Know the terrain. I relied heavily on photo mode to get a feel of the upcoming terrain in every attempt I made.

5. Know the horse. It mostly travels in straight vectors. Sometimes it curves but you will see later on that it doesn’t run in wave patterns all that much. It relies on corners to change directions but it can do a 180 and and disappear into the background before you can turn to find it. Every time I go past the horse, I immediately go into photo mode so I can see where it’s headed before it gets too far.
