Most often the backlight of the display as used in the Access Virus TI and TI2 dies. By simply replacing the LEDS with new 3mm ones one can repair it and enjoy the TI's display...
This display is impossible to get new nowadays. A couple of years ago I managed to get a bunch from Arrow.com (see link below), but they don't have them anymore. I did this modification on a non-working Virus TI display I had lying around.Although this mod works just fine, physically fitting it in a Virus TI I have not tried. (I sold my Virus TI...) I expect some issues with fitting it back into the TI. Watch at the end for how to possibly solve that.. I saw this while editing and I did not want to re-shoot the whole thing so eh... The principle still applies, just bend closer to the LED body. You will see what i mean.
The LEDs I used can be bought here (simple bulk white LEDS, make sure the voltage drop is about 2.7 Volts): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184310256623
You can use any color LED you want, but would recommend something like green, white, yellow. Red and blue are not good because of the black pixels used: Black on red/blue is very hard to see.
Datasheet of the original display can be found here: https://www.arrow.com/en/products/g32...
Looking for spare parts? I might have something... check out my eBay listings here: https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_nkw=&...
