Freezing My Balis Off

So I park my car for NYCKS and the first thing I see is this vast empty area in the parking garage. Of course, the first thing that comes to my mind as a flipper is AWESOME FILMING SPOT!

As flippers we are always looking for film locations, But it's not so easy for us. We have to worry (in States where they are less Balisong friendly) about being seen and calling a lot of attention. This is especially true when you flip in groups. A larger crowd calls for more noise, bigger visibility, and lots of unwarranted looks.

This location was perfect. It gave a great vibe, offered open space, great angles to play with. It was all shot in under 10 minutes. What you see in the film was essentially all that was shot. Only a couple minutes at most was cut off just for the sake of continuity.

The #flashfilm format of filming is awesome. It spontaneous. It requires no planning. It calls for freestyle flipping and filming. Sometimes you get your best moments within this mind frame.

So go try it with your local community and friends or alone. You never know what you might get. But word of advice: BRING A JACKET!
