This Easy Sourdough Discard Bread is the perfect way to turn your leftover sourdough starter into a golden, crusty loaf! ⭐ Ingredients
▢ 2½ cups bread flour or all-purpose flour
▢ 2 tsp salt
▢ 1 tsp instant yeast (or active dry yeast, proofed)
▢ ½ cup sourdough discard (unfed)
▢ 1 cup warm water (90-95°F)
▢ 1 tbsp olive oil
📝 Instructions
1️⃣ Mix: Combine flour, salt, and yeast in a bowl. Add sourdough discard and warm water. Mix until a soft, sticky dough forms. Rub lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.
2️⃣ First Rise: Cover and let rise in a warm spot until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
3️⃣ Shape: Gently shape the dough, place it seam-side down on parchment, and score the top.
4️⃣ Second Rise: Let rest while the oven preheats to 425°F.
5️⃣ Bake: Bake covered for 40 minutes, then uncovered 5-10 more until golden and crusty. Cool before slicing.
