BROADCAST SOUND RECORDING: Washington, D.C., House of Representatives, Prime Minister of Great Britain Winston S. Churchill’s second address to joint session of Congress. Introduced by Speaker of the House Sam Rayburn (Democrat, Tex.). Churchill speaks of partnership between United States and Great Britain in war and peace; progress of World War II; need to provide aid to China; his war-plans for Allies to win war;his and President Roosevelt’s desire to meet with Joseph Stalin and Chiang Kai-shek in near future; how Russia (as an ally) is faring against Germany.Churchill expresses his confident in ability of Allies to win war, but stresses that they should not relax their efforts. Danger of undue prolongation of war. Supreme objective of United Nations is discharge its duty to future of world and to destiny of man.
