Maui | Flying to Hawaii on Points + First Impressions of Hyatt Regency Maui

Our family adventure to Maui, Hawaii begins! 🌺 In this first episode of our Maui family travel vlog series, we take you along as we fly from Chicago O’Hare to Maui on an incredible award travel deal—just 7,500 points per ticket using Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles! ✈️

We share the full flight experience, including what the in-flight meal was really like on a 9-hour flight, how comfortable the seats were, and the reality of booking award travel through Star Alliance partners. Spoiler: it wasn’t easy, but it saved our family thousands of dollars. 💸

Once we land in Maui, we kick off our island stay at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa in Ka’anapali. Thanks to our Hyatt Globalist status, we scored a suite upgrade and access to the club lounge with free breakfast and evening appetizers. We’ll show you around the resort, check out the wildlife (yes, there are penguins in Maui!), enjoy our first food truck meal, and of course—indulge in plenty of poke. 🍍🐟
