The rivalry between England and France defined the geopolitics of Western Europe and even the entire planet for centuries. The battle for global domination between these two mighty empires would be the catalyst for countless wars. For this reason it is worth looking back to when this rivalry began. And to where it almost ended before it could even start. The 100 years war. When the crowns of England and France were almost unified under one man. Today we ask, what if Edward the third of England was successful in his conquest of France, pressing his claim to the crown of france and unifying the two kingdoms.
