The Rage of Achilles | Everything You Need to Know About The Iliad, Book 1

The Iliad is one of the greatest works of Western literature, but it can be a little intimidating for modern readers. This series is designed to explain the story and the main concepts in a digestible way, while encouraging people to engage with the text. This episode covers Book 1, which sees the hero Achilles clash with the leader of the Achaean army, Agamemnon.

Excerpts of the text are taken from Ian Johnston's translation of the Iliad. This is my personal favorite translation, and I'd recommend it to anybody who wants to get into the actual text. It's an easy read and is freely available for all uses other than commercial publication.
