In this math tutorial to solve the logarithmic equation we can use the change of base property of logarithms.
Using the fact that logₐb = logₖb / logₖan and letting k = log₃x.
The equation becomes
k - 2/k = 1
Multiplying through the equation by k.
The new equation becomes: k² - 2 = k
k² - k - 2 = 0.
By solving for the two values of k and using the values of k to solve for the values of x gives the solution to the equation.
