Open to the 4:30am newscast on Rochester, New York's NBC affiliate. WHEC is owned by Hubbard Broadcasting. WHEC is usually the #2 rated station in the market.

WHEC has been using the former NBC O&O graphics package "Look F" since 2012. In 2020 they modified their opens to be shorter. They are also using drone video of downtown Rochester now as opposed to the weird photoshopped skyline and stock sky video they had before. It looks a lot better than it did in my opinion. The same open is used at all times now, the only difference being the voiceover. They are using daytime video at 11 too. I'll say this, Look F has aged nicely, hard to believe they've been using these graphics 9 years now. I'll give WHEC credit for remaining consistent.

Music is "This Is The Place" from Stephen Arnold Music, voiceover is Kelly Pidgeon. My only complaint is they are now using the main cut of TITP for all shows. I kind of miss the morning cut in the morning.

Preceded by a couple of quick promos/legal IDs for the First Alert Weather team and the weekend morning newscast. Shoutout to Stacey Pensgen who joins the exclusive club of being one of the very few (if not only) on-air talent to have worked at all three news stations in Rochester (started her career at WHAM, later became weekend then chief meteorologist at WROC, then moved to WHEC when their previous chief meteorologist was fired; you can thank New York state banning non-competes for making that possible).
