Pregnancy Adventure at Manitoba Hut, Alaska

Every year we stay at Manitoba Huts because we have two friends that both love to backcountry ski and their birthdays are in the same week. It's a great time of year for spring skiing, so the group of friends spends a weekend skiing together and staying in the yurts on Manitoba.

Tristan has been cooped up with little man, so she was itching to get outside for an adventure before her pregnancy progresses any further. Tristan is a great tele-skier, but we've decided she wasn't going to strap her skis on at this stage in her pregnancy as a fall wouldn't be great for little man. Her third trimester has brough new challenges. Little man is large and in charge! It's tough seeing your partner transition into a state which she struggles doing things that were so easy for her before, but Tristan is doing it with a smile, most of the time.

Though this adventure is a fairly straight forward one, winter camping is a big event some. Winter camping can mean a lot of different things, everything from digging a snow pit and roughing it to being remote in a yurt. Doing any of it pregnant is next level! Tristan is going to be a great adventure Mom for little man to learn from and look up to.
