Koh Rong Samloem, Cambodia & Sara Resort: Island Escape for a Month!

Get away from the crowds on unspoiled Koh Rong Samloem (or Sanloem, some say). Long, empty, sandy beaches in Saracen Bay provide serene walks, peaceful kayaking and leisurely floats in calm waters. A 20 minute island and jungle walk to the other side brings you to Lazy Beach where waves are the stars in this beautiful, one-resort cove.

We ate and drank well at Sara Resort where we enjoyed a month-long stay in a cute bungalow and spent our days on cabana couches and in the pool.

We also swam in bioluminescent waters, caught a fish and went snorkeling….and hiked to a waterfall.

You won’t find sidewalks on this practically deserted island, but you will find the peaceful local serenity of quiet life travel.
